Matt is a seasoned attorney with extensive experience representing various parties in receivership, bankruptcy, and other insolvency matters. His proficiency extends to a wide range of corporate and commercial transactional matters, disputes, and litigation. Matt also advises banks and credit unions on insolvency matters and compliance with state and federal laws, including defense strategies.

Matt serves as a long-time court-appointed receiver, trustee, and master in a number of substantial and noteworthy cases, including the complex Centre of New England receivership proceedings, and his work in representing over 100 police and firefighter pensioners in the groundbreaking Chapter 9 municipal bankruptcy case of the City of Central Falls, Rhode Island, gained national attention.

Previous Experience:

Matt's career includes a significant tenure with the United States Department of Justice in its U.S. Trustee’s office in Boston, Massachusetts. His legal acumen has seen him appear in various bankruptcy and other courts, six United States Courts of Appeals, as well as before the United States Supreme Court and the Rhode Island Supreme Court.
